Inaugural seminar of the Gender in Management Special Interest Group – 13 June 2003, Manchester Metropolitan University

We had a very successful meeting of the GIM SIG on Friday 13 June 2003.  In total, 20 people attended the day and contributed towards ideas for progressing the group.  The seminar began with an address and seminar from Marilyn Davidson, Professor of Managerial Psychology in the Manchester School of Management at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.  This was a great way to launch the SIG and I thank Marilyn for taking the time to come and support us.

Thanks are also due to the Manchester Metropolitan University for hosting the seminar and providing lunch.

It was agreed that a committee would be set up to prioritise and progress ideas for the SIG.  It was noted that the group is in its infancy and without funding so some of the ideas will be evolved over time as the SIG becomes established.
