Amongst the developments and activities for 2004 were:

-         A successful application for SIG status at the British Academy of Management (BAM).

-         A workshop in April entitled ‘Advancing International Research in Gender and Management'

-         Representation at the Gender in Management track at the EURAM conference (5th-9th May), St Andrews.  Professor Jeff Hearn and Adelina Broadbridge were track chairs. This year track chairs had to compete for track status.  The gender and management track put in a strong application and was retained as one of the major specialist tracks at EURAM.  20 papers and 10 posters were accepted for presentation at the conference (details can be found in the newsletter). -         Production of a GIM SIG newsletter to keep members up to date with individual’s activities, forthcoming conferences of interest, calls for papers etc.

-         Sponsorship of two postgraduate student bursaries for the Gender and Management track of BAM

-         The SIG led a symposium at the BAM conference and enjoyed an evening's entertainment at a local restaurant .

-         Development of a website (www.gimsig.ac.uk)

-         Development of informal mentoring and peer review activities.

-         Committee meetings held in April and November.
